Romantic dinner for two! Josh Hartnett and girlfriend Tamsin Egerton load up on luxury food items to cook up a storm

After two years of dating sometimes the quiet dates are the most romantic.

Despite having dozens of top restaurants available to them, Josh Hartnett and his girlfriend Tamsin Egerton appear to prefer something a little more intimate.

The couple stepped out in the actor's Soho neighbourhood in New York on Monday with bags filled with goodies to make a scrumptious at-home meal.
The 36-year-old Penny Dreadful star and his English actress girlfriend headed to luxury supermarket Dean & Delcua to pick up supplies for their date night.

Emerging with two big bags full of fancy food, the pair also grabbed a healthy juice each, which they sipped away on as they hailed a cab.

For their trip out to the shops the former teen heartthrob looked laid back but still stylish, wearing a pair of dark blue jeans, a black T-shirt under an open denim shirt and a pair of leather lace up shoes, which he wore without socks.

Clearly after dating for two years Josh's fashion sense have worn off on the 25-year-old as she dressed similarly, wearing distressed denim shorts with a black T-shirt and a pair of black lace up shoes.

It was easy to see why Tamsin caught the actor's eye after his string of A-list girlfriends - which most famously included Scarlett Johansson.

Not wearing any makeup, and with her hair roughly thrown back, the British model and actress still looked flawless as they headed for their taxi.
The pair has been dating for two years and Josh recently revealed the key to making a relationship work in Hollywood - never keep girlfriends in the dark, especially when you have a history of dating co-stars.

Off-duty Josh Hartnett and girlfriend Tamsin Egerton wear synchronised looks as they step out in New York

They have been dating since August 2012.

And, clearly, Josh Hartnett and British girlfriend Tasmin Egerton have swapped fashion tips in the time they've been together.

The pair were seen wearing borderline his-and-her looks when they stepped out in New York on Monday.

The Hollywood actor wore a pair of skinny jeans with a navy jacket and sunglasses, complete with a pair of leather boots.

Seemingly on the same page, model Tamsin replicated the same colour scheme - grey, black and dark blue - in matching skinnies and a navy coat. She accessorised with a stylish Chanel bag.

Together, despite their matching outfits, they were certainly on-trend.

The couple first met when they starred opposite each other in 2012's Singularity, though it's believed their romance didn't begin until a year later.

And the St. Trinians actress is loving her life with her handsome man, who rose to fame in the late 1990s in teen movies such as The Faculty and The Virgin Suicides.

'Yes, my love life is great,' Tamsin told MailOnline of her relationship with the actor, although she made it perfectly clear she's not ready for family life.

'Not yet... I'm 25!' she said. 'I want to stay travelling and working as much as possible.'

She also spoke about how the devoted man moved to Dublin to spend time with her while she was filming her move Love, Rosie last year.

'We were filming in Dublin and Dún Laoghaire so we would all go to dinners together and we all stayed in the same hotel so that was always quite fun,' she said of the bonding between Josh and her castmates Lily Collins, Sam Claflin, Suki Waterhouse and Jamie Winstone.

'We'd go for walks round Dublin, go to pubs have a little drink together, there was one night at Lillie's Bordello which is a club in Dublin that is quite infamous.

'It was young people together just having a laugh and getting on.'

Josh often spends time Dublin himself to film his role in TV drama Penny Dreadful.

Josh Hartnett Clarifies His Statements About Turning Down Christopher Nolan's Batman

Josh Hartnett and his girlfriend Tamsin Egerton grab a sweet treat together on Sunday (May 24) in Prague, Czech Republic.

The 36-year-old actor recently made some comments about turning down the chance to work with Christopher Nolan and deciding he didn’t want to play Batman, a role that ultimately went to Christian Bale. Josh is now clarifying his comments.

“I always regret being honest about certain things. The way they come out and get decontextualized makes it sound like a boast. In that particular situation, it wasn’t what we were talking about at all. We were talking about, at that particular time in my life, do I regret anything in particular? He was talking specifically about Superman at that point. I said no, I don’t regret it. I regret some of the relationships I could have formed that I didn’t form,” Josh said (via USA Today).

“And I said, for example, I was really interested in this movie that Christopher Nolan’s brother wrote and it’s called The Prestige. I went and had a meeting with them. Warner Brothers wanted me to talk about Batman. I wanted to talk about The Prestige. I don’t read my own press as much as possible. I just kind of — you have to be cautious about how you put certain things,” he continued.
