Josh in for a Penny as he jets back to Dublin for new TV role
HE SPENT a romantic June Bank Holiday wandering through the Fair City with his girlfriend Tamsin Egerton.
And Hollywood heartthrob Josh Hartnett (35) must have liked what he saw because he's coming back.
The actor will be based in Dublin for much of October while working his TV series Penny Dreadful.
Filming for the period drama will take place in Ardmore studios from mid-October through to March -- which means Josh could appear at the annual IFTA awards ceremony for the second time.
In 2010, he presented former Ballykissangel star Dervla Kirwan with a gong for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
THE EIGHT-PART HORROR DRAMA WAS CREATED BY THREE- TIME OSCAR NOMINEE JOHN LOGAN, WHO WORKED ON HUGO, GLADIATOR AND SKYFALL.
Set in Victorian England, the drama will also star Hollywood beauty Eva Green.
The film will focus on some of horror literature's most famous characters and their origin stories -- including Dr Frankenstein and his creature, Dorian Gray, and characters from Dracula.
Hartnett will play American Ethan Chandler while Green will play sultry and haunted Vanessa.
The series, which is being made for the Showtime Channel, was meant to film in London but Sam Mendes production company, Neal Street Productions, recently confirmed filming will take place in Ireland.
It's not the first time Ireland has been used to double up for Victorian-era London; Ripper Street is set in London's East End and has been hugely successful for the BBC.
It bagged a BAFTA nomination for its first episode.
The Tudors was also filmed at Ardmore Studios and proved to be a massive hit for Showtime, picking up a total of 16 IFTA awards.
Last time Hartnett was in town, it was to visit girlfriend Tamsin on set.
The 24-year-old model and actress stars alongside Lily Collins in Cecelia Ahern's film Love Rosie.
Pearl Harbour star Josh wandered along the cobbled streets with Tamsin and did some window shopping.
They strolled through the green lawns and pagodas of St Stephen's Green and even stopped off in coffee shop landmark Bewley's Oriental Cafe for a cup of tea.
With filming for Love Rosie finished, Tamsin has returned to the UK.
But with Josh setting up camp in Ireland this winter, they could have plenty more romantic city breaks.
