The former Hollywood heartthrob and more recent co-star of “Oppenheimer” (and the underrated show “Penny Dreadful”) is one of the new big names to join “The Bear.” In Season 3’s fourth episode, Hartnett plays Ritchie’s ex-wife Tiffany’s (Gillian Jacobs) affable fiancé, Frank, who wants to have a man-to-man “chat” with Ritchie, much to “Cousin’s” dismay.

Fresh off his role in Oscar best picture winner Oppenheimer, Josh Hartnett made his way to Chicago for an appearance in The Bear season three. He portrays Frank, the fiancé of Richie’s ex-wife Tiff (Gillian Jacobs), in episode four, “Violet.” Richie drops off his daughter, Evie, at Frank’s house, and the two have an awkward conversation about how they’re now a part of the same family. Frank also apologizes for not having spoken with Richie before proposing to Tiff, as Taylor Swift’s “Long Live” plays from inside the house.

Josh Hartnett, 45, is the latest big-name guest star to appear on “The Bear.” In Season 3 (now streaming on Hulu), he plays Frank, the fiance of Richie’s (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) ex.
The awards darling — which dominated the Emmys and Golden Globes — follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a chef from the fine-dining world, who returns to Chicago to helm his brother Mikey’s (Jon Bernthal) sandwich shop after Mikey dies by suicide. Season 2 featured big-name celeb guest stars like Jamie Lee Curtis and John Mulaney. Season 3 added Hartnett and John Cena.
Hartnett’s surprise appearance happened because he met series creator Chris Storer years ago.
