Major Hollywood star confirmed to join Celebrity Gogglebox as exciting new cast is announced
Celebrity Gogglebox has signed up Hollywood royalty, with a big star set to join the sofa watchers for the upcoming Stand Up to Cancer special. This Friday's episode will air in aid of the charity as it aims to raise awareness and money to fight cancer.
Confirmed for the special is Oppenheimer star Josh Hartnett, who will be watching the best of the week's TV alongside wife and St Trinian's star Tamsin Egerton.
The show has also signed-up an actual Oscar-winner, with Kieran Culkin set to appear fresh off his Academy Award win for A Real Pain earlier this year, sitting on the sofa with wife Jazz Charton.
Speaking about his decision to appear on the British Channel 4 show, Hartnett said: "Tamsin introduced me to Gogglebox many years ago and I’ve been a fan ever since.
"Having the chance to sit with her, share a few laughs and inevitably say something that embarrasses us both, all while helping raise awareness for the worthiest of charities, is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. I’m incredibly excited to be a part of it, and to support Stand up to Cancer."
Egerton added: "We first started watching Gogglebox during lockdown in 2020, I found it so comforting watching other families around the country watching TV 'with' us. It’s such a great cross-section of the UK.
"Ever since then, Josh and I have tried to watch it together whenever we can. I can’t wait to snuggle up on the sofa with him for such an important cause as Stand up to Cancer."
Meanwhile, the main Gogglebox series recently introduced a number of new families and friends to the ensemble, including Glasgow-based best friends Jake and Calum, the Gordons in Surrey, and husbands Andrew and Alfie in the Cotswolds.
Also joining were Edinburgh-based sisters Rosie and Susie, and Yorkshire-based mother and daughter-in-law Sara and Lara – the latter of whom has a very famous brother.
Celebrity Gogglebox's Stand Up to Cancer special will air this Friday on Channel 4 at 9pm.
